By agreeing to book a training session with Andy Haines, you acknowledge that you have read, understood & fully accept my terms & conditions.
- At least 24 hours notice is required if you need to cancel a training session to allow for it to be re-booked otherwise full payment will be due.
- In the unlikely event of Andy cancelling a training session an alternative date will be offered. Poor weather, in itself, will not be reason for cancellation.
- However, extreme heat will necessitate such a cancellation owing to the welfare of the dog.
- It is expected that clients will have suitable clothing for the activity engaged in including supportive footwear & wet weather gear.
- Children are welcome to attend training sessions but their supervision & safety will be the responsibility of parents/guardians.
- Working with dogs inevitably includes an element of risk. Andy will seek to minimise this risk with safe systems of working but it should be understood that minor ‘wear & tear’ injuries may occur particularly when working with large, powerful dogs.
- During the first training session Andy will talk through & provide suitable equipment. If he suggests the longer term use of items such as long training lines any such cost will be borne by the client.
- When dealing with a reactive dog that has previously bitten Andy retains the right to insist on the use of a muzzle. He will give instruction on muzzle training a dog so that it is familiar with one before it goes out amongst other dogs.
The following items are not permitted in training sessions under any circumstances;
- Electric Collars
- Anti-bark Citronella/Water/Air Collars
- Check Chains
- Prong or Pinch Collars
Andy is committed to providing rewards based training free from aversive techniques that cause pain or fear in the dog.
Behaviour modification is often complex & multi factorial. Training must be carried out at the pace of the individual dog. Behavioural change can take considerable time & Andy cannot guarantee any speed of progress or recovery. In certain cases genetics, upbringing & previous experience can result in permanent damage/trauma to a dog. In these cases the training programme may be designed to improve the owner & dogs’ welfare & may not be able to resolve the issue completely.
Training session fees are payable on the day via cash or bank transfer.Fees relate to an hour’s one to one instruction. Clients are not obliged to book multiple training sessions & are at complete liberty to end the training whenever they choose.
- Bitches in season – please let Andy know in advance if this occurs & alternative, post season, dates will be offered.
- Sickness/Injury – If your dog is sick or injured training will be postponed to allow for full recovery.
- Andy asks that he is made aware of any previous illness or injury that is likely to impact on performance.
- Puppy socialisation is key to a happy, well balanced adult dog. There is an element of risk associated with socialising un-vaccinated puppies. However the assessment of such risk is an individual one that should be weighed up by the owner in relation to the benefits of early socialisation. Andy is happy to give an opinion on this matter but does not accept liability for any puppy that becomes ill as a result of pre-vaccination exposure. If in any doubt please be guided by your veterinary surgeon.
