About me

__________

Having been brought up around dogs, it was always an ambition of mine to work with dogs once I had settled on my chosen career in the police. I was lucky enough to fulfil this dream by joining the Metropolitan Police Dog Section in June 2002. 17 years of my 30 year police career was spent within the dog section, where I worked 3 general purpose German Shepherd dogs trained to find suspects and property based on human scent. They were also utilised at public disorder incidents.

Police work

__________

During this time, two of my dogs attained additional specialisms. Police Dog Chief was a firearms support dog specially trained to work alongside firearms teams on armed deployments.

Police Dog Troy was trained to be a victim recovery dog utilised at major crime scenes. He was awarded the prestigious Juno Trophy in 2016 for the best tracking dog in London for his work in following a blood trail at a murder scene that lead to the arrest and conviction of the main culprits.

I was selected for the arduous Team Trainers course in 2008 - a month long residential study of dog psychology and practical training. Having successfully completed this course, I was given specific responsibility for the 40 general purpose dogs at my North West London base.

Private training

__________

My private training ran alongside my police career until my retirement in 2019. I started helping a few friends and relatives with training their dogs, before word spread and the business grew. I have additionally worked with two veterinary practices running their puppy parties, and have been recommended to their clients for training and behavioural issues.
